For Katahdin High School Seniors

Carroll Nightingale was a long-time teacher, principal, and coach and retired as superintendent of SAD 25. His wife, Linda, was a long-time school bus driver for Katahdin schools. They embodied selflessness and a desire to serve others throughout the community. 

This scholarship was established in 2022 to honor Carroll's and Linda's commitment to Katahdin students. 

Award: One-time scholarship ranging from $250 up to $750.

Qualification:

• Graduating high school senior from Katahdin High School
• Accepted to and plan on attending a vocational school, community college, or university
• Made honor roll in junior or senior year
• Applied per the instructions below

How to Apply

To apply for the scholarship, please mail a letter that contains the following information.

• First and last name
• Mailing address
• Quarter(s) on the honor roll
• Essay (500 words or less)

Essay Topic: Carroll and Linda Nightingale put others before themselves. How will your education allow you to serve others, and how will this scholarship help in that process?
